Marketplace Terms
The rules for buying, selling, and trading collectibles on our marketplace.
Effective: March 27, 2026
Overview
The Tokyofishmarket marketplace is a peer-to-peer platform for buying and selling collectibles. We're the intermediary — we facilitate the transaction, hold payments in escrow, and handle disputes. We don't own the items being sold.
Seller eligibility
Selling requires an approved seller account.
- Application and approval required before listing
- Must maintain an active Stripe Connect account
- Must comply with all applicable laws
- Seller categories: individual or professional
- Professional sellers get additional features (auto-publish, analytics)
Listings
Every listing must accurately represent the item being sold.
- Accurate descriptions and condition grades required
- Prices can be set in JPY, USD, or CAD
- Original photos required (you can supplement with manufacturer images)
- Prohibited: counterfeit, stolen, illegal, or hazardous items
- Listings expire after 90 days and can be renewed
NSFW listings
Listings for adult content must be properly flagged.
- NSFW listings must be flagged during creation
- Only visible to users who opted in and meet age requirements
- Misflagging (listing NSFW content as SFW) results in immediate removal and account action
Orders and transactions
Each order involves one seller only.
- Seller must confirm the order within the specified timeframe
- Shipping with tracking is mandatory
- Buyer can cancel before the seller ships
- 3-day seller confirmation window
- In-order messaging available between buyer and seller
Payments and fees
All payments are processed through Stripe Connect.
- 10% platform commission deducted from seller payout
- Commission includes Stripe processing fees
- Funds held in escrow until claim period expires (48 hours post-delivery)
- Seller payouts processed after claim window closes
- No hidden fees — listing is free
Shipping
Sellers are responsible for shipping. Flat-fee model based on item category and destination. Signature required where supported. The platform is not liable for carrier delays, lost packages, or customs issues — but we help resolve them.
Disputes
When things go wrong, buyers file incident reports within the 48-hour claim window.
- Evidence required from buyer (photos, tracking, description of issue)
- Company determines fault attribution: seller, carrier, or platform
- Seller-attributable issues result in full buyer refund
- Tokyofishmarket acts as middleman — buyer never interacts directly with seller on disputes
- Resolution within 5 business days
Reputation and trust
Your seller reputation is built on real data.
- Trust score based on: completion rate, speed, incident history, engagement
