Third-Party Services Notice

Tokyofishmarket uses third-party services to operate the platform. This notice describes the external services we use, what data may be shared with them, and where you can find their respective privacy and terms documentation. This notice should be read alongside our Privacy and Data Usage Policy.

1. Payment Processing — Stripe

We use Stripe to process payments for purchases and marketplace transactions, and Stripe Connect for seller payouts.

  • Data shared: payment card details, billing address, transaction amounts, order identifiers, and seller onboarding information.
  • Purpose: secure payment processing, fraud prevention, seller identity verification, and payout management.
  • Data controller: Stripe acts as a data processor for payment data and as a data controller for its own fraud prevention systems.

2. Authentication — Shopify

We use Shopify's authentication infrastructure for user account management and single sign-on.

  • Data shared: email address, name, and authentication tokens.
  • Purpose: secure user authentication, session management, and account creation.

3. Bot Protection — Google reCAPTCHA

We use Google reCAPTCHA to protect forms and sensitive actions from automated abuse.

  • Data shared: IP address, browser characteristics, mouse movement patterns, and interaction data used for bot detection.
  • Purpose: preventing automated spam, bot attacks, and abuse of platform features.

4. GIF Content — Klipy

We use the Klipy API to provide GIF search and embedding functionality within community features.

  • Data shared: search queries entered when searching for GIFs.
  • Purpose: enabling GIF search and embedding in community posts and messages.
  • Content filtering: we apply the highest available content safety filter to all GIF searches.

5. Hosting and Infrastructure

Our platform is hosted on Vercel with database services provided by Neon (PostgreSQL). These providers process data as necessary to deliver our platform.

  • Data processed: all platform data is stored and transmitted through these infrastructure providers.
  • Purpose: platform hosting, database management, content delivery, and edge computing.
  • Security: data is encrypted in transit and at rest. Both providers maintain SOC 2 compliance.

6. Search Infrastructure — Typesense

We use Typesense for product and content search functionality.

  • Data shared: product catalog data, search queries, and search interaction data.
  • Purpose: fast, relevant search results across products, fandoms, and content.

7. Your Rights

Your use of Tokyofishmarket constitutes acceptance of the involvement of these third-party services. Where a third-party service acts as a data controller, you may exercise your privacy rights directly with that service. For data that we control and share with third parties as processors, you may exercise your rights through us as described in our Privacy and Data Usage Policy.

8. Changes to This Notice

We may update this notice when we add, remove, or change third-party service providers. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date.
